Privacy policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
Metryvo is a web app, and an optional watch companion, for logging pills and food. This policy covers the web app, the watch companion and this website. Questions go to support@metryvo.app.
The short version
- Your entries live in a Google Sheet in your Google Drive, not on our server.
- We keep the minimum needed to sign you in and to talk to Google for you.
- Food names you ask us to estimate are sent to an AI provider.
- We do not sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
What we collect and why
Your Google account basics. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture. We use them to identify your account and show who is signed in.
Google access tokens. To read and write your spreadsheet, Google gives Metryvo an access token and a refresh token.
We store them on our server so the app keeps working without asking you to sign in again. They grant access only to
files you picked or created with Metryvo (Google's drive.file permission).
Sessions. A sign-in session ends after 14 days without use, and each use extends it. It is stored on our server and in a cookie in your browser. The cookie is needed to keep you signed in; it is not used for tracking.
Your entries. Pill intakes, meals, nutrition values and portion sizes are written to your spreadsheet. Your browser may keep a temporary copy to show them faster. Our server does not store them.
Nutrition estimates. When you ask for an estimate, the food name, or the ingredients you type, is sent to Anthropic's API to produce the values. Estimates by food name are kept in a cache on our server, so the next person asking about the same food gets an answer without a new request. The cache itself stores the food name and the values, not who asked. Separately, for each request we record your account, the food name, the outcome and the usage and cost, to enforce daily limits and control spending. Estimates are saved to this cache and record whether or not you accept them. Please do not type personal information into food names or ingredients.
Diagnostic logs. The app keeps technical logs in your browser. They leave your device only if you choose Send diagnostic logs, or turn on Live diagnostics in the menu. Live diagnostics sends logs continuously, together with a device identifier, your browser and screen details, until you turn it off. Sent logs are written to our server log, and we use them only to investigate a problem.
Server logs. Our servers write operational logs that include your account identifier and, for estimates, the food name you asked about. We use them to run and debug the service.
This website. The website is static. It sets no cookies. Your theme choice is kept in your browser's local storage and never sent to us. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page) for security.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Metryvo's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who else processes data
- Google, which hosts your spreadsheet and handles sign-in.
- Anthropic, which produces nutrition estimates from the text you submit.
- Our hosting provider, which runs the server Metryvo is deployed on.
We share nothing else with anyone, and we never sell data.
The shared food list
Metryvo reads a public list of common foods, maintained by us, to fill in nutrition values. Your own food-facts
tab is never added to that list or shown to anyone else.
How long we keep things
- Tokens and account details: until you delete your account or revoke access.
- Sessions: 14 days after last use.
- Estimate cache: kept, because it holds no account information.
- Estimate request records: kept while your account exists.
- Diagnostic and server logs: kept for as long as our server's container logs are retained.
Your choices
- Revoke access at any time in your Google account settings.
- Delete your account by writing to support@metryvo.app. We delete your account, tokens, sessions and estimate usage records, and confirm by email.
- Your spreadsheet stays in your Drive. Delete it there if you want it gone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. Significant changes are announced in the app.
